What sort of contract do we have to sign in order to access this equipment?
To access units, all you need to do is sign the UIIA Agreement and the Milestone
UIIA Addendum. Once the paperwork is signed, you're ready to order
equipment. For questions regarding agreements contact Milestone at 630-986-1088.
How do I order equipment?
Simple, call our dispatch center at 630-986-1088 Monday thru Friday, 7am to 4:30pm, to
reserve and order equipment.
What are the charges?
45ft- $12.00 per day; 48ft $14.00 per day; 53ft $17.00 per day, 53ft Container Processing Fee Plus $6.00 per day. Use charges are accrued start once the trailer is pickup at a designated pool terminal until it is returned to a designated pool terminal.
Can these move on any Railroad or Highway.
Yes, as long as the railroad offers trailer service, these units can move as private trailers under
your railroad rate structure. Or, if you need to run them over the road, no problem, just pick up the unit and drop the unit off at a designated terminal
Are there any cross-over penalties from one Railroad to another?
No, we encourage customers to use this product as a true pool product. We
don't charge cross-over charges.
Do I have to worry about incurring a higher daily demurrage rate?
No, we encourage our customers to use these assets as long as they're
needed.
Can I use my own drayman?
Only drayman or motor carriers with a valid UIIA Agreement
including the Milestone Addendum are allowed to pickup our trailers. If your drayman meets these requirements,
they're all set.
Do you have a drayman we can use?
Yes, we have agreements with RoadLink USA to provide nationwide dray services. To become a RoadLink USA customer, contact a RoadLink office listed on our terminal information sheet.
Do you already have ramp-to-ramp rates worked out w/ the respective railroads or do we have to get them direct from each railroad?
At this time we do not have ramp-to-ramp rates. Trailers would move under your private
contracts. We're working on rates to offer a wholesale asset, however, we do not want to quote rates or deal with beneficial owners unless asked by the IMC.
When does billing start?
Once the unit leaves the pick up terminal, the payment clock will start on that day. No matter what time the unit is picked up.
When does billing stop?
Once the unit returns to a designated terminal, the payment clock will
stop at the end of that day.
What happens if the equipment gets damaged?
If you return the unit to us damaged, you'll be responsible for damages per
the provisions of the UIIA. If the Railroad damaged the unit
while in your possession, make sure your drayman notes the damage on the Railroad
outbound J-1 form. That way you'll be able to send the invoice to
their claims department and get reimbursed for the damage.
What happens if the trailer has tire damage while in transit, or needs repairs on the road?
You can call EBS at 1-877-528-4737 for nationwide roadside assistance.
They'll determine the responsible party and bill appropriately.
Can I track my equipment?
Yes. Go to our
tracing page
and enter your unit number.
